Sand Castles, Fall Fairs, And Sweater Weather

We had such an amazing weekend!  I didn’t book any clients this weekend so Tyler, Brooke, and I had a fun two days together.  We started the weekend by cleaning up a bit, focussing on our backyard, and finished the weekend by going to a fall fair and cuddling on the couch!

On Saturday Tyler spend a lot of the morning cleaning up our backyard and getting it “bonfire ready” so we could all start to enjoy our own backyard a little more.  While he cleaned up the back corner with the tractor, Brooke and I headed back to the pond to play in some sand.  The ground was still a little wet so we built some castles.

I enjoyed the sun while I could, while Brooke decided it would be best to just end up piling all the sand on my lap.  The weather couldn’t have been any better; it was warm with a cool breeze, so a big oversized sweater and some leggings did the job perfectly.  Brooke was wearing some items from Gymboree.  I have to say though; I’m happy their clothes are affordable, because Brooke has no problem getting them dirty.  Not to mention they’re pretty cute too!

After we headed back home to see what Tyler had accomplished and eventually played in the backyard for a good portion of the evening.  Brooke was having fun playing with her giant yellow ball, and Tyler and I enjoyed relaxing in our chairs!  It’s funny the things you enjoy as a parent compared to before you have kids.  I think I’ve started to appreciate the little things in life a bit more now that we have Brooke, and I wouldn’t change a thing.

On Sunday we decided that we should go to the fair.  Not so much for the rides but the animals!  The Western Fair has a bunch of farm animals out for the kids to play with.  Brooke was really excited to see the cows and sheep.  I thought she’d be more excited about all of the horses but I guess she sees those everyday at home so it wasn’t that new to her.

It was fairly warm out when we were at the fair, and I definitely overdressed.  What else is new though?  Brooke was super excited every time we walked by any loud ride and would clap like crazy.  It was nice to see her enjoying herself so much, Tyler mentioned how awesome it’s going to be when she can get really excited about these events ahead of time like we do.

I think it’s important to make sure that time is set aside for family time.  Wether you all have a quiet day at home or an event packed day at the fair, enjoy the moments with the people who matter most to you in this world.
